Hi there, I'm Elzine. A UX / UI Designer from Pretoria, South Africa. I cut through the static to create designs that are clean, fast, and intuitive. If it doesn’t serve the user, it doesn’t make the final track.

What is your current role and experience level?

I’m a UX/UI Designer with a strong focus on product design, working primarily on complex, real-world systems. I’ve worked across discovery, design, testing, and delivery, collaborating closely with developers, product owners, and stakeholders.

What types of projects do you usually work on?

My experience is mainly in product design rather than marketing websites. I work on internal tools, platforms, and user-facing applications where usability, scalability, and business impact matter.

What part of the UX/UI process do you specialise in?

I’m comfortable owning the full design process, from research and flows through to high-fidelity UI and handover. My strengths are structuring complex problems, designing clear user flows, and crafting interfaces that feel intuitive and intentional.

How do I add this FAQ component to my project?

After duplicating, copy and paste the component into your Framer project. Then edit the questions, answers, styles, and animations as needed.

How do you work with developers and product teams?

I work closely with developers from early stages to ensure designs are feasible and well-communicated. I provide annotated designs, UI components, and support throughout implementation to keep quality high and surprises low.

Do you conduct user research and testing?

Yes. I use a mix of qualitative and quantitative methods depending on the project, including discovery workshops, usability testing, and internal validation with product owners and QA testers. Research is always scaled to fit timelines and constraints.

How do you use AI in your design workflow?

I use AI as a support tool, not a replacement for design thinking. It helps me ideate ideas and create wireframes or early UI drafts during discovery workshops, which I share with product owners and stakeholders to communicate potential solutions. I also use it to generate microcopy efficiently, ensuring the content matches the interface, while final design decisions are always grounded in user needs, data, and context.

What’s life like outside design?

I’m engaged to my incredible fiancé, and we’re busy planning our wedding. Our home is ruled by three mischievous cats, aka my fur babies, who keep me on my toes and occasionally on the floor chasing toys. I’m also currently learning German, both at work and on Duolingo (Bading!). Fun fact: I got into UX/UI because of my fiancé. His CSS wizardry pulled me into the world of pixels, flows, and interfaces, and now I get to steal design tips from him every day. Check out his work at www.leanfourie.co.za.
